Golfing in San Carlos
Golf is a favorite pastime world-wide and San Carlos is no exception. The San Carlos Country Club Golf Course spans 100 acres in the heart of the city. Designed by Pete Dye in 1977 this course offers spectacular views of the Sea of Cortez and the landmark Teta Kawi Mountain. This very challenging desert course is 6,542 yards in length and although there are no water hazards the desert landscaping creates a challenging game. San Carlos holds many tournaments throughout the year.
The course skirts the gated golf communities of the Royal Golf Club, the Country Club, and Solymar Condominiums.
Many expats are on leagues such as the Women’s Golf League on Tuesday afternoons and the Men’s Golf League every Thursday. Along with the Nifty-Niners, which is a nine-hole group and the professional services of Golf Pro Martin Costillo you are sure to find a golf game to suit your style.
A round of golf is usually concluded on the 19th Hole, also known as the Caddy Shack restaurant with it’s own micro brewery.
Hours of operation are 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and you can call 226-1102 to reach the course staff. When planning your San Carlos vacation be sure and pack your clubs! See you on the course!
